Who we are

  • facebook

Tale Valley Choir is a mixed-voice community choir with around 28 members, founded in 2014 by our

Musical Director, Emma Palmer.

We sing

A Cappella (unaccompanied)

which means that not only do our audiences hear the voices & parts, but we can also hear each other to make the most of our ensemble.

Members live in East Devon towns and villages in or close to the Tale Valley and our home base is the small village of Talaton.

If you might be interested in joining, let us know.  No qualifications necessary - just a joy of singing and a sense of humour!

We sing a wide variety of music, from Medieval French to old pop classics.  We've done drinking songs, Swedish wedding songs, folk songs & Christmas music....definitely something for everyone.

What people say about us....

"One cannot fail to be impressed by this choir with its range of music, tongues and continents. The programme’s description of ‘very eclectic’ seems very (!) apt".

Richard Davies, Whimple,

2018

"Exquisite!"

"If you haven’t heard the ‘TVC’ yet, you should go along to a

performance. You will be in for a feast that can be professional, yes but certainly engaging and generally a lot of fun.

Emma is lethal with a tuning fork."

Richard Davies, Whimple 2018

"A suitably robust rendition of this

fab arrangement! You conveyed

your enjoyment of it in bucketloads".

Manvinder Rattan,

Sing for Pleasure,

2017

"It brought tears to my eye".
